Race Information

The Providence Corporate Cup Run/Walk includes thousands of athletes participating each year as individuals or teams on a 5k (3.1 mile) race course. Hundreds of companies throughout our community participate, and many companies have on-site tent locations for their employees, business associates, and friends. FREE food, drink, musical entertainment, and other amenities are provided to ALL participants at the post-race party.

As in the past, the 2010 race route will unite Baton Rouge Downtown and Mid City. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Big Buddy Program and the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance.

Chip Timing

This year, timing chips will be REQUIRED for scoring. In other words, if all members of a team do not have timing chips, then the member without a chip will not be scored for the team. Chips will be available for all registered runners.

Each runner must pick up his/her own chip by presenting his/her race number at the chip table, located near the corner of North Boulevard and Fourth Street. Chips will ONLY be given to individuals (i.e. no group pick-up for teams).

Chips will be collected in the finish line chute immediately after crossing. Lost chips or those not returned will be charged a $5.00 fee.

Packet Pick-Up

Participant packets will be available on Thursday, April 15, and Friday, April 16, from 8:00am to 6:00pm at the C.B. Pennington, Jr. Conference Center (near the back of the complex) at 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA.

Future CEO Race

This year’s Providence Corporate Cup has expanded to include a Future CEO 1-mile fun run designed for the 14 and under wellness-oriented athletes in the community!

The Future CEO race allows younger participants to have the spotlight first on race day. The Future CEO race will begin at Fourth Street at North Boulevard at 8:30AM, heading toward Spanish Town Road and back to Fourth at North to complete one mile. All participants will receive their Fun Run bib and Providence Corporate Cup tee shirt, as well as running socks and/or coffee mugs while supplies last. Every Future CEO participant will receive an award, and the first place male and female runners will receive medals. Parents may run with their child(ren) at no additional fee.

There's a lot of discussion these days about fit kids. People who care (parents, doctors, teachers, and others) want to know how to help kids be more fit! For more information, please visit KidsHealth.org.

Awards and Scoring

Each runner receives a 22nd Annual Providence Corporate Cup T-shirt and race number. Additionally, coffee mugs and race socks are given to the first 1,000 registrants to pick up their race packets.

Over 50 awards will be presented at the post-race party. In addition to the coveted Corporate Wellness Award, other categories include:
